Don't Feed The Algorithm: Issue 028

The algorithm never sleeps, but you don’t have to feed it.

🐊 Editor's Note

Hey there,

Welcome back to another Don’t Feed The Algorithm, your weekly dispatch from Averi — where we explore the intersections of marketing, AI and the future of work.

This might be the calm before the storm.

We’ve been hinting at something big for a while — but next week, it’s here.

The biggest launch in Averi’s history.

For months, our team’s been quietly rethinking what marketing execution should feel like — not just how it looks on a dashboard or reads in a press release.

We asked: What if strategy, creation, and execution could all live in one flow?

No tool-hopping. No copy-pasting briefs. No three-day waits for “something close.”

Next week, we’re introducing what comes after AI tools, freelancers, and fragmented workflows — the moment where everything finally connects.

We can’t say much more (yet). But trust us, it’s not just another feature drop.

It’s the future of how marketing gets done.

Let’s build.

⚙️ Straight Outta Dev

Next week, we're launching something that changes everything about how Averi works.

Not "incremental improvement" changes. The kind of changes where you sit down to use it and think: "Oh. This is completely different."

Averi has always been powerful. But it's also been... a product. Software you use to do specific things. A tool in your marketing stack.

That's over.

Next week, Averi releases The AI Marketing Workspace.

Not just new positioning. Not just new features. A fundamental rethinking of where and how marketing actually happens.

Here's what that means for you:

No more tool chaos. That thing where you're juggling ChatGPT for ideas, Google Docs for drafts, Slack for feedback, Figma for designs, Upwork for execution, and somehow trying to keep context across all of it? Done. One workspace. One flow. Strategy to execution to iteration… all in the same place.

AI that actually gets smarter the more you use it. Not "type the same context into a chatbot every time" AI. AI that learns your brand, remembers your campaigns, understands what works for your audience, and gets more aligned with every project you run.

Real humans when you need them, AI when you don't. Sometimes you need expert execution - a designer who gets it, a strategist who can see what you're missing, a writer who nails your voice. Now they join your workspace with full context already loaded. No re-briefing. No explaining your brand for the 47th time. They just... start working.

Work the way you actually work. Some days you want to collaborate with AI on every sentence. Some days you want to hand it off entirely. Some days you need experts to take the wheel. The workspace flexes to however you want to work—not the other way around.

This is what happens when you stop building "AI tools" and start building where marketing teams actually do their work.

We've been building this for months. The interface. The intelligence. The entire experience. It's ready.

And next week, you'll get to see it.

This is the biggest leap forward in Averi's history. Not because we added features. Because we reimagined what's possible when marketing has a real workspace built for how teams actually operate.

Consider this your heads up: next Wednesday, everything changes.

We can't wait to show you.

🎮 Run This Play

This is where we hand you a ready-made growth move you can drop straight into Averi. No theory, no bs — just execution you can actually launch in minutes.

This week’s play is all about building landing pages that actually convert — not just look pretty. Most teams overthink design and underthink structure.

Leaving them with beautiful pages that don’t move the needle.

Goal: Increase conversions and lead capture from landing pages.

Outcome: 2x higher conversion rates, 50% faster build cycles, and a reusable template that makes every future launch easier.

Play: Create a Landing Page That Converts

1️⃣ Define the Strategy — Open Averi and ask: “Help me build a landing page strategy. Goal: [leads/signups/sales]. Offer: [describe]. Target audience: [describe].”

Work with Averi to define your conversion goal, key objection, and value proposition. Then ask Averi to recommend your page structure (Hero → Problem/Solution → Benefits → Social Proof → CTA).

2️⃣ Write the Copy — Jump into /create mode and ask: “Write landing page copy using this structure. Include: headline, subhead, benefits, social proof, and CTA.”

Edit the draft directly in Create Mode, refine the hook, personalize it for your audience, and ask Averi for five alternative headlines to A/B test.

3️⃣ Generate Specs — Ask Averi: “Generate the JSON structure and design specifications for this landing page, including color scheme, typography, and button styles.”

Save all assets (copy, JSON, design notes, alt headlines) to Asset Management → Landing Pages.

4️⃣ Activate Development — Type /intro to get matched with a web developer. Share your Averi conversation, Create Mode canvas, and Asset Management folder. Optional: bring in a designer for visuals.

👉 That’s just the setup. The real magic comes once you launch, test, and let Averi optimize your next iteration automatically.

📺 The Algorithm Could Never

Maybelline — “Sky High Real Impact” Campaign

When most beauty brands chase trends, Maybelline built a moment. Their viral “Sky High Real Impact” campaign turned mascara into a cinematic experience — featuring AI-augmented train takeovers and surreal, larger-than-life visuals of lashes stretching across subway tunnels and city skylines.

The brand merged physical installation with AI-generated motion design, creating videos that blurred the line between digital illusion and real-world stunt. It was bold, slightly absurd, and entirely human in how it played with scale and surprise.

Why We Love It:

Because it proves AI doesn’t have to replace creativity — it can amplify it. The campaign succeeded not because of the tech, but because someone thought: what if our ad made you question what’s real for a second?

No algorithm would have written that brief.

Do we dig it?

🦄 Averi Stories & Startup Spotlight

Recraft: The AI Design Platform Turning Brand Guidelines into Living Systems

Recraft is redefining how brands create and scale design systems in the age of AI. Instead of churning out disconnected assets or relying on outsourced design work, Recraft allows marketing and creative teams to instantly generate on-brand visuals — from illustrations to layouts — directly from their brand guidelines.

The Backstory: Founded in 2023 by a team of ex-Canva and Stability AI engineers, Recraft emerged from a simple truth: most design teams spend more time maintaining consistency than creating. The founders saw an opportunity to build an AI-powered platform that could learn a brand’s aesthetic and replicate it across every campaign, format, and channel — without compromising quality.

Key Innovation: Recraft’s engine transforms static brand kits into living systems. Users upload brand assets, define tone and color rules, and Recraft automatically generates campaign-ready designs that stay perfectly on brand. The result: design that moves as fast as your strategy — scaling creativity without scaling headcount.

AI + Human Marketing Tip

"Don’t scale chaos"

Most teams race to integrate AI into every corner of their workflow — before fixing what’s broken underneath.

But AI doesn’t solve disorganization. It scales it.

Think of AI like an accelerant: it magnifies the system it’s dropped into. If your processes are messy, your results will be, too — only faster.

Strategy You Can Steal

The “AI Maturity Map”

If 2023 was the year of experimentation and 2024 was about proof of concept, 2025 is the year of AI maturity — making it operational, measurable, and brand-aligned.

Here’s how to build your map:

Phase 1: Foundation → Audit where AI already lives in your workflow. Are you using it for creation, strategy, or optimization? Identify gaps.

Phase 2: Integration → Connect your AI tools into one flow — research, draft, refine, publish — without losing brand consistency.

Phase 3: Human Loop → Define where expert oversight adds quality and taste. Averi’s system does this natively through human activation.

Phase 4: Optimization → Track speed, output quality, and creative distinctiveness — then use those insights to train future campaigns.

You’re not just “using AI.” You’re building the creative infrastructure of your brand.

This Week’s Prompt Highlight

“Write a 5-step AI maturity roadmap for my marketing team that feels like it came from a creative director, not a data analyst.”

This team wanted to push AI to bridge strategy and storytelling — forcing it to think like a leader, not a machine.

Averi gave them a roadmap that was both operational and inspiring — with actionable milestones, cultural values, and measurable goals.

🏆 Expert of the Week

Jordan Lee — Conversion Design Strategist Who Treats Every Pixel Like a Call-to-Action

🎨 Background: A former UX lead at HubSpot turned independent strategist, Jordan specializes in designing landing pages and conversion flows that merge data with intuition. Based in Chicago, she’s helped dozens of startups translate analytics into creative direction that actually drives revenue.

⚡ Achievement: Using Averi’s Create Mode and Adaptive Reasoning tools, Jordan rebuilt a SaaS client’s full acquisition funnel — tightening their offer hierarchy, testing AI-generated variants, and redesigning CTAs. The result: a 56% lift in demo sign-ups and a 32% decrease in bounce rate in just six weeks.

🪩 Quirk: Keeps a running “Design Hall of Shame” moodboard of bad UX decisions she finds online — and uses it as inspiration for what not to do.
